Bantwal: Jaleel murder-accused brought to Karopadi for investigation

Bantwal, May 1: All the 11 persons accused of having played a role in the murder of Karopadi gram panchayat vice president, Jaleel Karopadi, in his office recently, were produced in the court on Saturday April 29. The police also obtained police custody of four of the accused.

The police led these four persons to Kanyana and Karopadi as part of ongoing investigation to rebuild the events before and after the murder. Investigation was conducted at the spot where the victim was working and also the spot where Jaleel was ambushed and killed by masked men. A large number of people who were trying to get a glimpse of the murder- accused had gathered at these spots.

There are people who claim that the murder took place for certain objective, but the police have registered it as if it was done for some other purpose. There is uncertainty and confusion in the minds of the people about the purpose behind this murder.

Disstrict additional superintendent of police, Dr Vedamurthy, assistant superintedent of police, Raveesh C R, circle inspector, Manjaiah, station house officers, Nagaraj from Vittal, Rakshit A K from Bantwal town station and Umesh of rural station here were present.
