Pakistan facing shortage of 36,000 PhDs


Islamabad, April 28 (IANS): Pakistan is facing a shortage of 36,000 PhDs, an independent body that overseas the country's higher education efforts said in a report published on Friday.

"There is a shortage of 36,000 PhDs. The government must increase budget for higher education to meet such challenges," the Dawn quoted Federal Higher Education Commission Chairman Mukhtar Ahmed as saying.
