Udupi, Apr 28: Local people held protests and expressed anguish in front of the office of sub registrar in Brahmavar on Thursday, April 27 condemning transfer of contract staff.

The Revenue minister had issued surprise orders on Thursday transferring temporary staff. Therefore, temporary staff in the offices of sub registrars in Brahmavar, Karkal, Shankernarayana, Byndoor and other offices in Udupi district were transferred.

Udupi former Zilla panchayat president B Bhujanga Shetty speaking on the occasion said that the employees in the office of sub registrars were residents in their respective vicinities. “As they are employed for low salaries, it is unfair to transfer them to distant places. Therefore, the transfer orders should be withdrawn”, he urged.

Taluk panchayat member Sudheer Kumar Shetty, leaders Jnanavasanth Shetty, Alwyn Andrade, Raviprakash Gonsalves, Manohar Shetty, Laxman Shetty, Sadananda Poojary and others were present.
