Udupi: Retired principal and economist Prof T K Mohan passes away

Udupi, Apr 28: Retired principal and well-known economist, Prof T K Mohan (66), breathed his last at his home at Bengaluru on Thursday April 27. He is survived by wife, a son, and a daughter.

Prof Mohan, who studied in Kannada medium school, rose to the position of professor of economics. At the same time, because of his in-depth knowledge about English grammar, many a time, English lecturers and professors sought guidance from him. People from different universities had been approaching him during preparation of projects because of his profound English knowledge. He was always more than willing to help his colleagues and students. He therefore was a favourite with colleagues and students. His work, 'International Trade and Finance' was in great demand.

Prof Mohan served MGM College here for a long period. He also worked at Bhandarkars College Kundapur and JCBM College Sringeri as professor and head of the department, and principal of Mahaveer College Moodbidri. After his retirement, Mohan, who was a native of Bengaluru, settled down there and also served as visiting professor in several prestigious educational institutions.
