Match Report for the matches played on April 21 and 22

Jeddah, Apr 27: Young Star registered their first victory in the opening match of Indomie Champions Trophy 2017-JSCL Season II by defeating Indomie Dragons by 12 runs at BMT Grounds on Friday April 21.

Electing to bat first, Young Star piled up a huge total of 160 runs in 10 overs for the loss of five wickets. They were helped by some explosive batting by Amir Siddique who scored unbeaten 78 runs off 25 balls with the help of 3x4’s and 9x6’s. Abu Hurairah was the other batsman who contributed 35 runs off 15 balls. For Indomie Dragons, Israr took 2-28 and Rashed 1/25.

Chasing the target of 161 runs, Indomie Dragons fought well and could manage only 148/3 and fell short by just 12 runs. Mazher Abbasi was unbeaten on 52 off 21 balls and Maqsood unbeaten on 33 off 18 balls. Masood and Waqas picked one wicket each. Amir Siddique was adjudged the man of the match.

In the second match, Jeddah Gladiators defeated Junaid CC by 4 wickets. Batting first, Junaid CC made 95/9 in their 10 overs with Lateef 20 off 14 balls. Chasing 96 runs in 10 overs, Asif took 3-21 and Mehtab took 2-21. Jeddah Gladiators achieved the target in 8.4 overs with Mehtab unbeaten on 36 off 24 balls with 2x4’s and 2x6’s. Mehtab was declared Man of the Match for his all-round performance of 2 wickets and 36 not out.

The third match between Asia XI and Warriors saw Warriors winning the match by 41 runs. Warriors CC scored 105/6 in 10 overs with Quraishi top scoring 64 runs off 25 balls.

Chasing the target of 105 runs, Asia XI were restricted to 64/7 in 10 overs handing victory of 41 runs to Warriors CC. Quraishi of Warriors CC was declared the man of the match for his unbeaten 64 runs & a wicket.

Four matches were played on Saturday 22-Apr-2017 at BMT Grounds.

In the first match played on Saturday, Saudi Gladiators defeated Zahid Group by 34 runs. Batting first Saudi Gladiators scored 143/5 in 10 overs. Waqas made 54 and Zubair remained unbeaten on 41.

Chasing 143, Moiz’s excellent unbeaten knock went in vain as Zahid Group lost the match by 34 runs. Shafiq took 2/15. Waqas was declared the man of the match for his 54 runs.

In the second match, FH CC pulled off and exciting win over Friday Stallions. They won the match by 5 wickets. Friday Stallions batting first scored 107/4 in 10 overs with Oneeb’s excellent knock of unbeaten 76 runs. Joyanal took 2 wickets for 7 runs.

Chasing 108, FH CC achieved the target in 8.4 overs thanks to excellent batting performance of Joynal who single handedly won the match for his team by scoring unbeaten 47 runs and was declared the man of the match for his all-round performance of 47 not out and 2 wickets.

In the third match, Pepsi Alliance upset Lothers CC as they beat Lothers by 10 wickets with 2.3 overs to spare. Batting first, Lothers were restricted to 94/6 in 10 overs. Waqas made 35 and Abdul Wahed 24. Asif took 2 wickets and a wicket each by Israr and Irshad.

Pepsi Alliance achieved the target of 94 runs in style without losing a wicket with Ahmed Rizvi was unbeaten on 53 runs and Humayun on 20. Ahmed Rizvi was declared the man of the match for his 53 runs.

In the last match played between Arcoma Crown & Crazy Cric Jeddah, Arcoma Crown won a thrilling match by 8 runs. Arcoma Crown batting first scored 130/7 in 10 overs with Jalil scoring 24, Ashraf 21 and Shareef 18 runs. Mohammed Thekemuri was the pick of the bowlers for Crazy Cric Jeddah as he took the first five wicket haul of this tournament with figures of 5-31. 

In reply Crazy Cric Jeddah fought well and made 122/7 losing the match by 8 runs. Dany Antony scored 35, Badushah 29 and Asif 26. Imtiaz took 3-19 and Haider 2-24. Imtiaz was adjudged the man of the match for his excellent bowling performance of 3-19.
