Govt taking attack on CRPF by Naxals as challenge: Rajnath Singh

New Delhi, Apr 25 (PTI): Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said the government has taken as a "challenge" the killing of CRPF personnel by Naxals in Sukma in Chhattisgarh.

"We have taken the attack as a challenge," he told reporters here.

Singh described the incident as "sad and unfortunate". "It is a very sad and unfortunate incident. I will talk to Chief Minister Raman Singh for more details," he said.

Earlier, Singh asked Minister of State for Home Hansraj Ahir to travel to Chhattisgarh to take stock of the situation. "Extremely pained to know about the killing of CRPF personnel in Sukma. My tributes to the martyrs and condolences to their families," Singh tweeted.

At least 26 CRPF personnel were killed and six wounded in Sukma district today, the deadliest attack by Naxalites targeting security forces this year.

India,s military expenditure fifth largest in the world,( 62 Billians ) But we cannot control small groups naxals. then how one can think india is safe living. Out of 62 bilians more than half is going in the pockets of high handed people.
And half of the staff only fit in enjoying goverment benifits,

    Mr. Mohan,
Do not talk ill about our Army and its commanders.
Do you have any idea why any government could not clear out the naxal corridor? Why we can not bomb and wipe them off?

Naxals live within tribal population in Chattisgarh. They will not hesitate to use the innocents as human shields. If the army is deployed, or if the paramilitary forces swing into their fullest action, the collateral damage will be very high.
That is the only reason we are not able to deploy the army for anti-naxal operations.

    Mr.Manohar,

your comment is totally baseless. if the military take action against these naxals or terrorist then there is one section of people who shout about military & govt. they project it as human right violation. again they shout azadi slogan. you also said that caste system & poverty. from the last 70 years we are shouting slogans garibi hatao etc. then where those schemes & money gone? again caste system, now a days there is no upper caste people controlling the lower caste people. it is the political parties supporting the caste system for their vote bank politics. when this kind of incidents happened we are projecting it in different way by hiding the truth for the political benefit.

Nothing has changed since years, and it seems nothing will change too. So long leaders are taking decisions this problem can not be resolved, give free hand to Army/ para military forces to bring them down otherwise leaders will keep shedding crocodile tears without taking any decisive step. We need to take alternative steps like the Major tied the stone pelter with the jeep whether these leaders/ babus had such an idea.. no way they make foolish policies for their own comfort, you pay taxes they draw salaries tax free.

Govt should take action, not keep talking tough every time. Hate to see our soldiers dying everyday. And forget about protecting cows and bulls!

    @ ravi, paku
your modi Govt is busy in Cows identification number and Adhar card.
While the politics are being played death counts are simply becoming statistics for us. That is so long as we ourselves are not casualties. Why does the government not take this problem seriously and treat as if it is not an important issue? "A spark neglected burns the house", tells Leo Tolstoy.

it is "sad and unfortunate" but govt. should take this as challenge as inaction on this will lead more and more attacks, Jawans leave their home for 125 crore Indians, they were deputed for road construction area, Jawans dont want that road, people of Chattisgarh need it. We type RIP and forget the incident, will their soul rest in Peace? if no action on attackers? Govt should teach these goons on their own language by killing multiple times of damage. killing them is not solution, but to get solution killing them is necessary.
Home Minister, whole India is watching you today, attack them and give real meaning of RIP to those Jawans. Take it as challenge and attack them, many political parties will come forward to rescue them, if you really attack them people will support you with out seeing which party he belongs to. Its high time to finish internal enemy than external one. Even your action will give moral support to All the Jawans in country to fight against terrorism (internal / External).

Good luck to Hon. Home Minister for taking revenge on goons who damaged the country.
