Media Release

Toronto, Apr 22: Konkan Organization of Toronto (KOT) has announced the screening of the much awaited Konkani blockbuster movie 'Noshibacho Khell' directed by Harry Fernandes, produced by Henry D’silva on Sunday, June 11 at 11 am, at the Albion theatre, 1530 Albion Rd, Etobicoke, Canada.

The movie screening is jointly organized by Konkan Organization of Toronto and Canara World Foundation.

Well known Konkani playwright Henry D’Silva Suratkal, in the late seventies consistently presented many successful Konkani plays on Bombay’s Konkani stage. As an amateur producer he had enthralled Konkani drama lovers with the first super hit ‘Kazara Uprath’ almost thirty years ago. His great love for his mother tongue and passion for performing arts prompted him to produce ‘Noshibacho Khel’, now a blockbuster.

The film has been beautifully shot in various locales. The movie is co-produced by Carol D’Souza and has an interesting story line which keeps the audience glued to their seats throughout.

Elton Mascarenhas and singer Ester Noronha are in male and female lead roles. Other actors are Prince Jacob(Goa), Ranjitha Lewis, Clenvin Fernandes, Sujata Andrade, Stany Alvares and Alwyn Andrade.

After successful shows in India the film was also screened with houseful shows in Kuwait and Qatar and Dubai. The film has been already booked for shows in London and other places. .

The film screening initiative hopes to connect the Konkani speaking diaspora of Canada with their roots and promote their mother tongue through the medium of movies, art, culture, dance and language.

KOT requests everybody to support the movie at the theatre, so that more good quality movies are produced in Konkani.

Tickets are priced at a reasonable rate of $15 and $10. Booking tickets early could ensure preferred seating

Tickets will be available with the Konkan Organization of Toronto committee members.

Congratulations to all those that are instrumental in creating the Konkany Movie "Noshibacho Khell" that will be premiered in Toronto during June 2017. We would have loved to attend this auspicious occasion in Toronto but due to other commitments we are unable to do so.

Toronto, Canada has always stood out for many philanthropic achievements including the first Konkany performance many years ago by sponsoring the group of late Wilfy Rebimbos and we were fortunate to be present. Toronto, Canada is a shining City on the Hill for the Mangalore community of North America, and we still remember the efforts of Mr. Maxim Mendes and his group who have worked very hard to establish a strong foundation of Konkany spirit of patriotism in North America that we shall always remain grateful.

Best wishes to one and all in Toronto who have made this event possible.
