Kasargod, Apr 22: The 60th birthday celebration of parish priest, Fr Victor D'Souza, was celebrated by the parish pastoral council and parishioners of Christ King Church, Kayyar here on April 17.
Bishop of Mangalore diocese Fr Dr Aloysius Paul D' Souza was present in the Holy Mass. Fr Victor D'Souza led the Mass. Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves delivered the homily. Priests from Kasargod, Mangaluru and Udupi diocese participated in the Holy Mass.
Fr Basil, Fr Mathew Vas, Fr Oswald Crasta, Fr Anil Alfred D'Souza, Fr Marcel Saldanha and other priests con-celebrated the Mass.
Later, a short stage programme was held, presided over by Fr Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza. Bela church parish priest Fr Vincent D'Souza, Catholic Board of Education secretary Fr Jerald D'Souza, parish pastoral council vice-president John D'Souza and convent superior Sr Monthin Gomes were present. Parish pastoral council secretary Roshan D'Souza read the letter of honor.
An annual magazine titled 'Rai Kunvar', consisting of all the information of the church was released by parish priest Fr Vincent D'Souza on the occasion.
Church pastoral council, several other church committees, representatives of churches in Bajpe, Uppinangadi, Loretto, Neermarga and Petri where Fr Victor D'Souza had served, were present on the occasion to congratulate him.
Pastoral council vice-president John D'Souza welcomed the gathering. Fr Boniface Pinto compered the programme. Vincent D'Souza proposed the vote of thanks.
