Koppal: If Modi wants power, let him die – Minister Basavaraj Rayareddy

Daijiworld Media Network – Koppal (EP)

Koppal, Apr 21: "It is not enough if the Prime Minister removes red light from the vehicles of ministers. Let him give up security also,” challenged minister of higher education in the state Basavaraj Rayareddy to the Prime Minister on Friday, April 21.

Speaking to reporters about reports on removing red lights on the vehicles of VIPs, by the union government, the minister said that removing the lights will not make any difference. “Let Modi remove security including his own,” he said.

"I welcome the move. I also suggest that my security cover too be withdrawn. In that case, Modi should also get rid of his security," the minister challenged.

Responding to the questions by reporters who asked if the PM can give up security when he has threats to his life, he said, "Let him die if he wants power. Death is inevitable if one wants power. Let him sit at home if he does not want power. Nobody will kill him then,” he said.

Responding to the change of KPCC president, he said that it is left to the high command. “I am willing to carry out the duties if I am given the post,” he said.

what a joke!!!!!. PM modi said about beacon. instead of removing beacon, let them avoid traffic blocking method. these ministers are coming to the city at breakfast time, lunch time or high tea time or dinner time. traffic police block traffic and make public's life miserable. let CM/PM come and go at any time with normal manner, let them also see the system and capacity of our traffic department, let them see our driver's driving systems, let them also see how our traffic baba's are busy with personal mobile calls. let them see how our traffic police stop the vehicles on the centre of the cross roads to check licence or permit. let them see when lady police struggling to control traffic and men police drinking 7up and busy with mobile. let them also see how our public follow traffic law, how our drivers follow traffic system, and our two wheelers are penetrating the pedestrians. let them enjoy our city bus competition drama when senior citizens and disables want to clime the buses. let them see our conductor's shouting's "edur pole, pira pole.......sairle........right poi......" when the get 130 passengers inside the bus where the approved capacity of 35+10
let these thing get clear first before the beacons are removed. unless these things are not repaired; then beacons may be needed in every vehicles, not only on ambulances.

After passing some irrelevant/irreverent comments, foot-in-the-mouth, our Netas always end up blaming the 'Press' or saying that 'they have been misquoted'.

High time our Netas also are subjected to accountability for their (loose) talk.

The language used by the minister is not in tune with basic etiquette especially about the Prime minister of the country . However, the point he made is that it is not the red beacon that matters but the amount of expenses incurred on security of all the so called VIPs of the country including Prime minister and former prime ministers , presidents and ministers is too heavy. The daily expenses of maintaining the security of the VIP may run crores together . This is in a country like ours where teaming millions of people cannot afford for a square meal a day . At the same time I support Prime Ministers concern for bringing egalitarian society wherein the common people and VIPs can get same treatment. Here both Prime Minister as well the Minister for Higher education are the people of high integrity commitment and honesty .

please read again and read again. He has a point. There are countries where PM's do not use security. If the PM think that there is threat to his life then why not a minister or MLA MP will not think about his own life.

Congress is in self destruction mode since 2012, its leaders, ministers, office bearers have been roaming around and giving foul mouthed, nonsense statements since then. all these fellows have taken the contract to finish off very old party in India. Mahatma Gandhi's wish to dissolve the party after independence is becoming true. Rahul Gandhi, Digvijaya Singh, Mani Shankar Iyar, P Chidambaram, Manish Tiwary, Rashid Alvi, Gulab Nabi Azad, Rajiv Shukla, Sheila Dikshit, Kapil Sibbal and few Karnataka ministers including CM are in full swing of reaching the task.
