Mangaluru: Bethany congregation gets new members - 9 sisters make first profession

Media Release

Mangaluru, Apr 19: The congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany, Bendore here was blessed by nine new members, belonging to Bengaluru and western provinces, who made their first profession at Bethany Provincial House, Bengaluru on Tuesday April 18 at 10 am.

Sr Anna Mary, Sr Deepa F Siddi, Sr Geetha Prakash, Sr Jaswini J Fernandes, Neuphula A Rodrigues, Sr Sujatha Souza, Sr Sunita Dodamani, Sr Sweeny J Lopez and Sr Valentina L Rodrigues were the new brides who committed their lives to Christ on the path of evangelical counsels, making their vows to the Lord, of poverty, chastity and obedience. They belong to Belagavi, Karwar and Ballari dioceses and their families have made this generous sacrifice of gifting them to the service of the Lord in the missions.

The solemn Eucharist at which these nine sisters made their first profession of vows was officiated by Fr Anthony Joseph, rector of St Joseph Institutions, Bengaluru and concelebrated by nine priests. Sr Clarina, the novice directress presented the nine novices through a special request to the provincials. Sr Bonita and Sr Assumpta, the provincial superiors of Bengaluru and western province respectively received their vows.

As the Congregation is heading towards its centenary celebrations in 2021, the new missionaries added to it will be a blessing to continue the vision of its founder, Servant of God Raymond F C Mascarenhas, to have the gospel preached to the poor, bringing the compassionate love of Jesus to the last, least and the lost of the world.
