Udupi: Youth booked for offensive comments on Dr Ambedkar in social media

Udupi, Apr 18: A case stands registered at Brahmavar police station for posting an offensive statement against Dr B R Ambedkar.

Srikanth Nayak from Bailoor is the accused.

As per details, Srikanth posted some comments below Dr Ambedkar’s photo on the Facebook page of a person named Akshay Shetty which demeaned the Indian Constitution and Dr B R Ambedkar. The comments were written on April 14, the birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar. 

Chandra Althar from Brahmavar complained to Brahmavar police that the comments were offensive and insulted the Constitution and Dr Ambedkar both. The complainant said the comments hurt the feeling of people.

Brahmavar police have taken up the investigations.

    I am seeing lot of loopholes in the rules and framework written by constitutional writers. Irrespective of their religion or caste, it should be debated in open and should be revived from time to time. And politicians doesn't want to touch many things due to fear of vote bank.

    Many people get government jobs due to caste. Our government offices are worst places. Many low level officials are not accountable due to their castes. For example part of our land survey maps are missing in Karkala taluk office and lower level village accounting officials are not cooperating with taluk office employees. If I check their caste they are reserved people. So we cannot talk loudly. One day I may need demonstrate one man protest infront of taluk office Karkala. That is the present condition..

    I dont know about others ... but let me say what I feel about the my liking or disliking,

    1. People dislike you if u wear saffron
    I dont dislike anyone wearing saffron. but these days the color is usually associated with right wing thugs.

    2. People dislike you If u support Modi
    I actually support Modi. I am with him if i really feel that the steps he is taking for the betterment of our country.

    3. People dislike you If u support BJP
    I actually dont support any political party, cause i believe that supporting (being fan of ) any political party is detriment to a democracy.

    4. People dislike you If u love cows & u do not eat beef.
    I dont love cows. but i do not eat beef either. Its my personal choice. I really cant understand the right wing logic of banning cow slaughter. They are actually hurting farmers.

    5. People dislike you If u like Yoga
    I dont dislike people who like yoga.... but for haven's sake... stop spreading the false benefits of yoga. If there are benefits please provide proof.

    Dr.Ambedkar or Patel should have been Indian PM and NOT Nehru....India paid price for Congress Politics...I respect this man and treat him in the same manner like Gandhiji...

    Youth made mistake by posting offensive comments..Probably he is not aware of Dr.Ambedkar's contribution to India..

    60 Years Congress politics kept Dr Ambedkar in darkness..They use him only for vote bank..Now, it is Modiji's turn to introduce Dr Ambedkar's contribution to India and Indians.. Hope he will do justice to the Greatest Person of India..

    90% beef sold in coastal karnataka is stolen one. Even European & American people rely on source. If it is not ethical they don't buy. But our great so called democratic secular people forget the source. They don't have any problem with stolen meat.

    Shanker Dude: I get what I want to eat in the country where I live at the moment. Their policies are simple and humane no restrictions its your wish. Coming back to your point of stealing cows, even I dont support it but you should understand one thing why the stealing started, what is the reason? If cow slaughter is affecting Majorities sentiments then how come India is number one country in Beef Export, that too 65% of the meat is from Cow. Thank God we have so many options to buy Beef from different countries here, in fact all other meat too and of best in quality.

    I have stopped eating Indian Beef here, I feel its snatched from my brothers and Sisters in my country and sent to me and I am not comfortable to eat. I buy the Beef from other countries. Hope my clarification suffice.

    Dear Shanker, i dont agree with your comments. In 99.9% of cases, the people who trade in meat are buying the cows from farmers. However, few of these farmers are agents of sangh parivar affiliates and they pass on the messagte to these goondas who intercept the buyers of cow and propogate that they have stolen the cows. At the same time, the farmer who had sold the cow and received cash will be asked by these goondas to lodge complaint in police that his cow is stolen. This is what happening in almost all the cases. These goondas then beat the cow buyer and steal cash / mobile from him and also beat him. Police will catch the buyer instead of catching the goondas and liar farmer. Few farmers are forced to sell the cow which are not fetching milk as they are not affordable to feed it.

    When did Shankar ever say that? And also he can say anything in support of Modi or Yogi, ... and I being a free speech absolutist will be fine with it. I will only voice my concern if he files a complaint against anyone for saying something regarding Modi or Yogi because it hurt his feelings.

    Ambedkar is a great scholar but its unfortunate that people are playing dirty game in his name. He devoted his attention to buddhism & he founded the Bharatiya Bauddha Mahasabha & got converted in the year 1956. Most of the people think that he was supporter of congress but the fact is he lost two times against congress candidate.
