Adaptation of classic 'Sound of Music' in Konkani - At Bengaluru on Apr 21, Mumbai shows in May

Bengaluru, Apr 17: Kanara Saraswat Association (KSA) is a 105-year-old and growing institution dedicated to organising the social, cultural, sports, education, medical relief activities and events at regular intervals.

KSA along with the Saraswat Mahila Samaj (SMS) which has entered into 100th year, has planned to promote a Konkani musical drama 'Naad Ninaad' involving over 40 artistes from Canara Union Arts Section, Malleshwaram, Bengaluru, in the age groups of 4 and 74 years. This drama is a Konkani adaptation of the most popular American musical hit film of 1965, 'Sound of Music' and is a must see for everyone, especially the Konkani speaking audience of all age groups.


The two consecutive shows of this Konkani drama 'Naad Ninaad' will be held at:

Yashwant Natya Mandir, Matunga (W), in Mumbai
1st show on Saturday May 13 at 8.30 pm
2nd Show on Sunday May 14 at 10 am

This drama has been staged 5 times before in Bengaluru to a full house and has received standing ovation every time. The sixth performance is planned at Chowdiah Memorial Hall, Bengaluru on April 21 before the entire troupe travels to Mumbai in May for the first time outside Bengaluru city.

The plans for both the shows in Mumbai are filling fast even over a month prior to the scheduled two shows.

Naad Ninaad – A Konkani Musical, an adaptation of the timeless and evergreen classic 'The Sound of Music' translated in spirit and song is back after five wonderfully received shows.

Naad Ninaad is an enthusiastic team of 65+ ranging ages from 4 years to 74 years with an on-stage cast of 40+ actors. Come and get thrilled as you travel down into yesteryears with the enlivening live background music and on-stage singing by the performers themselves.
