Bengaluru: Omar Abdullah likens Deve Gowda to Musharraf, JD(S) decides to 'let it go'

Bengaluru, Apr 16 (DHNS): Days after Omar Abdullah was trolled for his tweet likening H D Deve Gowda to Pervez Musharraf, the JD(S) on Sunday decided not to take up the issue.

JD(S) National General Secretary Danish Ali on Sunday said that people will decide on the caliber of those who make caustic remarks against former prime minister H D Deve Gowda.

"Abdullah is educated is London. He can use his knowledge to ridicule. Our leader is from a rural background, we cannot hit back. So we have decided to let it go," Ali said sarcastically.

Omar Abdullah had to bear the brunt of hundreds of netizens for likening Gowda to Pakistan’s former president General Pervez Musharraf.

To a tweet by a Indian channel stating that it will interview Musharraf on Kulbushan Jadhav, Abdullah replied, "This is akin to Pakistani channels talking to Deve Gowda about developments in India. Irrelevant no matter how hard hitting".

This led to him being trolled "Son of the Soil Sri Deve Gowda has done more for the Nation’s Development than the Runaway Crooks Abdullah family can even dream about," BJP State General Secretary C T Ravi tweeted.

Ali pointed out that it was during Gowda’s tenure as prime minister that Gowda brought back Abdullah and his father Farooq back to India and installed the senior Abdullah as the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir.

Our Mannina Maga is the ONLY PRIME MINISTER IN THE HISTORY OF INDIA WHO WAS KICKED OUT OF DELHI without a chance to furl the tricolour on Laal Quila on independence Day. Need I say more? We are soooooooo proud of him. Father and son own acres of land in Padmanabhanagar, Kumaraswamy Layout, Banashankari 3rd stage.

We may beat our chests, but in reality says there is nothing wrong in what Omar Abdullah has said. In today's national and international political scene Mr. Deve Gowda is totally irrelevant just like Musharaff. He was therefore only drawing a comparison that's all.

Farooq Abdullah and his family have ruled Kashmir for years for their own good. Huge money coming to Kashmir from Central funds are straightaway used by these "kings" for their own purpose rather than people of Kashmir. That is the main reason Kashmir is still not developed and youth are unemployed. His son Omar who is western educated talks as if he is only the smartest.

Instead of Deve Gowda, he could have mentioned his name or Farook Abdulla in his tweet.

Deve Gowda is far far better when compared to this father son duo of Kashmir.

Omar Abdullah educated in London, and Devegowda from rural background - what is the use of education when it is not used for good? Devegowda is Son of the Soil whereas Omar is born to British.
