Udupi: Congress won by-polls by splurging money, says Jagadish Shettar

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (HB/SP)

Udupi, Apr 13: Former Karnataka chief minister, leader of the opposition in the assembly, and BJP leader, Jagadish Shettar, accused Congress of splurging money to secure victory in both Gundlupet and Nanjangud constituencies which went to by-poll on April 9.

Speaking to media persons during his visit to the town on Thursday April 13, Shettar said that it is normal for the ruling party in the state to bag seats during assembly by-polls. At the same time, he hastened to add that this result is not an indicator for the things to come in the next year's assembly election.

"The Congress had made up its mind to win this by-poll under any circumstances, by hook or crook. They succeeded in their designs," he said.

Shettar said that elections will be continued to fought henceforth under the leadership of Yeddyurappa. He also expressed confidence that Srinivas Prasad, who was defeated in the by-poll, will get suitable position in the party organization. He hailed Prasad as being a veteran statesman.

Shettar visited Sri Krishna Math here on Thursday and paid obeisance. He also held talk with Paryaya Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math.

Party like congress has a strong secular face and rich by plenty of foreign educated ones and high level professionals. Meantime, communal party like BJP doesn't have sufficient number of such high profile people. Therefore they do not generate enough new idea how to bring up the country with multiple development projects in light of current demands and strategies. And even no much idea how to implement a government policy by well doing the home works. An example is the demonetization in which a plenty of times the policy has been changed on day by day due to lack of coordination and feasibility studies . The stability of BJP is based on religious and communal commitments like cow slaughter ban and Ayodhya issues etc. Poor village living Hindu devotees are always been cheating by the BJP superiors in light of mere Hindutwa. Neither Hindutwa nor Ayodhya Mandir gonna bring a single mug of water and food despite of tensions and nightmares. We need to bring the country with economical and social developments and home security. According to the National Crime Records Bureau of India, reported incidents of crime against women increased 6.4% during 2012, and a crime against a woman is committed every 2 minutes and there s a rape in very 30 minutes! And violence against children, minority community and Dalits are also so high in India... IN INDIA WE NEED WATER, FOOD, SECURITY AND EDUCATION

You are very correct. The BJP is lacking properly educated people at the Central Government to hold the job, but now holding upon religious thread and the move is going on too fast to make India as a theocracy. The anti-women rhetoric like the savage statement made by a BJP leader, the offer of Rs 11 lakh for the head of Srimthi Mamtha Banergee shows, how terribly the BJP/RSS etc dislike women. and their hatred towards women. Cows are more valuable than women. Now, the full focus is at the beef issue to make India as a mother cow worshiping nation, but they don't like father Ox. What kind of double standard is that? Where is Smriti Irani, Hema Malini, Menaka Gandhi etc in the party now? They are voiceless onlookers, but the role is played by Modi-Amith Shaw team exclusively. So sad that the followers can't see this reality as yet.

Shettar, Karnataka is different from U.P. Here maximum people are educated and wise. They wants to live in peace and harmony. They have seen the dombarata and loot from your party. Congress won by giving money. However, you lost money also, election also. Kannadigas will accept money, but never vote for wrong party. That is called as intelligence.
