Kuwait, Apr 13: St Aloysius College Alumini Association (SACAA) held their first event 'Fun in the Sun' on Friday April 7 at Mishref Garden under the leadership of Kiran Sunny, president for 2016-2018.
The event was planned on March 24 but was postponed due to unstable weather conditions. It was providence that good weather prevailed in spite of a dicey forecast and the executive committee (EXCOM ) was geared up to host the SACAA get-together. This was an event that brought together as many alumni who studied under the Aloysius banner in Mangaluru, India along with family and close friends.
The day began with a short address and prayer by general secretary Darrell DSouza. Later in the day, lots of games conducted by adept Vinutha Miranda, Ashley D'Silva, Kiran Sunny and Jaison Lasrado had everyone on their toes with their remarkable talents, wit and humor. As the day proceeded games for all age groups witnessed active participation and great enthusiasm from all the attendees. EXCOM and the volunteers ensured that the events carried on seamlessly.
An abundant supply of snacks and drinks were great energizers throughout the day. While the children competed in sack race, collecting water balloons, balancing maximum coins on a biscuit, lemon and spoon and many other games, the parents too were just as much into cheering and encouraging all the children. Teens and parents too had their share of fun reliving old days with sack race, catching water balloons and more.
A delicious sumptuous meal from Caesars Restaurant was a right treat to food lovers. A heavy lunch definitely got people some well-deserved rest, and was followed by a game of Housie. Dodge ball and the good old game 'Dog and the bone'followed. The crowd thoroughly enjoyed the games and kept requesting for more. Their requests were fulfilled by more interesting add ons. The sportsman spirit and total participation of all were commendable. Overall it was a day to remember with lots of fun, new friends and off course a song in the hearts of the alumni filling them with pride to be recognised as Aloysians from Mangaluru.
Toward the end of the day, the winners of all the events were presented exciting prizes along with lots of coupons from Al Thiqa Restaurants – Courtesy Lloyd Colaco. Caesars Restaurants and also the sponsors, Bahrain Danish Dairy, FICO, Al Yasra, Ashley and Sujay were specially thanked as well as members' families, friends and well-wishers who made the day a very good outing.
