Mangaluru: City police donates Rs 50,000 to injured ASI Aithappa

Mangaluru, Apr 11: In a noble gesture, police personnel contributed Rs 50,000 to ASI Aithappa who was attacked by two a few days back while on duty.

City police commissioner Chandra Sekhar M visited him in the hospital and handed over the money to Aithappa’s family. He also sought information from doctors on his health and assured all helps to his family.

Speaking to daijiworld, Mangaluru DCP Sanjeev Patil said, "From constable to commissioner, everyone contributed towards this donation. This is our solidarity towards our colleague. We have also provided a 4-wheeler to his family for easy transportation between hospital and home. Now he is responding to the treatment and recovering. The entire police force is praying for his speedy recovery."

Assistant sub-inspector Aithappa from Urwa police station was assaulted by two persons on the morning of April 5.The assault took place at Lady Hill at around 3:30 am.

Later police arrested two accused identified as Shamir Katipalla (27) and Niyaz Katipalla (20) in connection with the assault.
