Kundapur: Unbearable summer heat - Man collapses in field and dies

Kundapur, Apr 9: A man collapsed in his field because of unbearable summer heat and breathed his last on Friday, April 7

Vasantha Shetty (40) from Amparu near here is the person deceased.

As per details, Vasantha Shetty ran a bakery in Bengaluru and also came home regularly in Amparu to look after his agriculture. On Friday, while he was busy working in his filed, he collapsed suddenly due to scorching sun. Two other workers, who worked at the field, rushed him immediately to hospital and the duty doctor said Vasantha Shetty had already breathed his last.


Pradeep Kumar Shetty, a former taluk panchayat member said Vasantha did lose his life because of summer heat. He also added it was also possible that temperature variation between Bengaluru and Kundapur could have been a factor in the death.

More details will be known after the post-mortem report comes out.

    Very sad news.He was still young.Quite possible he must have some heartailments or high pressure.And in such hot and dry weather many people get heart atack.When you see his foto,I presume he was bit heavier than other normalones.whatever it was midday time one should not stay long in hot sun.extreem danger.we hear mostly in gulf countrys many get heart attacks.For the heart too much stress when hot is,drink less.Everywhere weather has changed.Hot weather where rain must be there.In Peru etc.we hear rains and floods.we cut trees and complain noair is moving.we should think bit further.save green ,less plastic,less atom kraft work.May his soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathy to the family.

    Is Pradeep Kumar Shetty, a former taluk panchayat member, is also a doctor? Or did he conduct the autopsy and wrote a report?

    There are remote chances that in Kundapur a person can die of just summer temperature. Dehydration due to other reasons, heart problems etc might have caused the death.

    RIP. Person can die anywhere anytime any reason.There were incidents people connected it to Q in Bank counters snd ATM earlier this year.

    South Canara has changed a lot in the last 20 years...Plastic waste, absence of proper garbage disposal system especially in rural areas, cutting down big trees to make space for housing and permission to build polluting industries like thermal power plants has increased our average temperatures to unbearable limits...And shortage of water and there by lowering our general quality of comfortable life...
