Bengaluru, Apr 6: Winner of 'Bigg Boss (Kannada)' season - 4, and upcoming Sandlwood actor, Pratham, tried to commit suicide by consuming sleeping pills. After he fell ill thereafter, he was rushed to a private hospital here. It is gathered that Pratham is out of danger.

Pratham made suicide bid on Wednesday April 5 morning. The news spread like wildfire after he recorded the suicide attempt on video and uploaded it on Facebook.

Pratham said that he had tried to kill himself out of the frustration arising out of his friend, Lokesh, harassing him with demand to give him money out of the winner's purse Pratham had won in 'Bigg Boss' reality show. He also has charged some visual media of harassing him. He consumed two sleeping pills after giving reasons for ending his life on Facebook Live. He was admitted into a hospital later.

The police have reasons to believe that the suicide bid was a farce. Because, on Tuesday, Lokesh had filed police complaint, alleging that Pratham had attacked him. Pratham's suicide attempt came immediately after this news was spread by the media.

Police sources said that there is chance of a complaint being registered by the police against Pratham, as suicide bid continues to be a crime in India. Although the government has decided to delete section 309 of Indian Penal Code which holds suicide a crime, it is yet to become a law.
