Mumbai: Kannada department of Mumbai University releases seven literary works

Mumbai, Apr 3: The Kannada department of Mumbai University released seven different books by seven different authors on Saturday morning April 1. The programme was held at J P Nayak Bhavan, Santacruz east Kalina campus.

Dr Jyothi Sathish, editor of Nesaru monthly, B S Kurkal, Devudas Shetty, comedian Shamala Prakash, Dr Jeevi Kulkarni, Dr Vishwanath Karnad, senior researcher Dr Leela B introduced the works.

A farewell programme for MPhil students Khajappa Madale and R M Ganachari, oral examination and Kannada department MA second year students was held in the afternoon. First year students presented flower bouquets and works to the outgoing students and wished them well. Soorappa Kunder presented a magic show.



Kolyaru Raju Shetty, Ravi R Anchan, Dr Vani N Uchilkar, Dayamani S Shetty Ekkaru, Ashok S Suvarna, S K Sunder, Lata Santhosh Shetty, Rathnaker R Shetty, Mohan Marnad, Umesh Kumar Anchan, Vishal S Kunder, Surekha S Devadiga, Dakshayini Edavalli, S Daya, M Srikanth Prabhu, Dr Suma Dwarakanath, Neela Siddalingappa, Dinaker N Chandan, Durgappa U Koteyavar, Chandrahasa Mendon, H Parasapa, Padmanabha Sasihitlu and other fans of literature were present.

Jyothi N Shetty sang a prayer song. Kannada department research student Dr G N Upadya welcomed everyone and delivered the keynote address. Rama Udupa and Kannada department assistant professor Dr Poornima S Shetty compered the programme. Shivaraj M G proposed the vote of thanks.
