Mangaluru, Apr 2: Father Muller Charitable Institutions held the graduation day of Father Muller Medical College and Allied Health Sciences and Father Muller College of Speech and Hearing at Father Muller Convention Centre on Saturday April 1.

Addressing the gathering, director of Manipal Institute of Technology Dr Gopal Krishna Prabhu said, "It is my privilege to be part of this graduation day ceremony. I need not speak about Father Muller Charitable Institution as everyone is aware about the name, fame and the quality in terms of teaching, evaluating and moulding the students. During your academics, you do teaching and learning in a team and evaluation is done individually, but when it comes to profession, teaching and learning is done individually and evaluation is done in a team. Do not tag yourself with success and faliure as there is nothing like faliure in life, it is just a delay in success."

Bishop of Mangaluru diocese Fr Aloysius Paul D'Souza said, "I am quite delighted to witness this beautiful graduation day. I am sure you were waiting for this day and I wish this day remains vivid and fresh in your minds. This is the reward that you have earned for your hard work, dedication and the knowledge that you have aquired from your years in the institution. It is a universal truth that everyone is born to achieve success, but those who lack purpose in their life struggle. I congratulate all the graduates and wish the best for their future."

A total of 270 students were awarded graduation degrees, among which, 95 were MBBS, 29 were from Father Muller College of Speech and Hearing, 34 from physiotherapy stream, 17 BSc medical laboratory technology, 19 BSc medical imaging technology, and 3 from radio therapy technology.

Dr Sahana P bagged FMCI President's Gold Medal for the best outgoing MBBS graduate for the year 2016.

FMCI in-charge director Fr Richard Coelho welcomed the gathering.

Dean of Father Muller Medical College Dr J P Alva presented annual report of the college.
