New Delhi, Mar 29 (PTI): The Supreme Court today asked the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Karnataka Police to investigate the role of former Chief Ministers N Dharam Singh and H D Kumaraswamy in the iron ore mining case and file a report within three months.

The apex court, however, said that its stay on the investigation against another former Chief Minister S M Krishna will continue during the period.

A bench comprising Justices P C Ghose and R F Nariman restrained all other courts including the high court from passing any order in the case.

It has been alleged by one of the complainants, T J Abraham that the former chief ministers connived with several bureaucrats and others in de-registering a huge tract of forest land and allowed illegal iron ore mining on a large scale.

The complainant had also referred to various reports of the then Lokayukta Justice N Santosh Hegde indicting several politicians, bureaucrats and others.

EC must make a rule that anyone wants to stand for election that they have clear all the cases . Nowadays most of our politicians are having cases against them i.e. murder, corruption, rape, kidnapping etc.... But it is only in number and they will claim the case is in court and they were not convicted. Sometime our court take 10 to 50 years to give judgement. How small cases the person is kept in jail...... at least ban them from standing for election.

Do we need any more proof than this that SC is BJP stooge. Other day Kumaraswamy fired a bomb against BJP saying "ED cleared Reddy of 500 cr to fund BJP for election expenses". If he had praised Modi the whole scene would have been completely different. Another arm twisting by BJP. All govt. systems and machinaries have collapsed.
