Comes ahead of Yogi's first visit to Ayodhya

New Delhi, Mar 26 (DHNS): Ahead of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s proposed visit to Ayodhya, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad has upped the ante on Hindtuva, with its international working president Pravin Togadia reiterating his demand for a law to enable the construction of the Ram temple. Adityanath is set to visit Ayodhya on Monday, his first visit since taking charge of Uttar Pradesh, and after the Supreme Court favoured an out-of-court settlement of the complex and sensitive Ram temple construction issue.

Togadia expressed confidence that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Adityanath will bring in a legislation in Parliament to build the temple. “The BJP had passed a resolution on the temple construction in its 1987 meeting in Palampur in Himachal. I believe that Modiji will fulfil the wishes of those who made efforts for the temple construction by bringing in a law in Parliament. He is a man of his word,” Togadia said at a press meet here.

Though the BJP had welcomed the court’s observation in a Ram temple title suit, the Babri Masjid Action Committee and a few others are opposed to it and want a legal solution. With the BJP sweeping Uttar Pradesh to form a government in the state after 14 years, the saffron outfits are pushing for a resolution at the earliest.

Religious march

Togadia announced that the VHP will organise a religious march on April 2 to galvanise people and administer an oath on the construction of the temple. This will be part of the programmes that the organisation intends to hold at 5,000 taluks and blocks across the country from March 28 in keeping with the Ram Navami celebrations.
