Mangaluru: More misery for people with no water for 48 hours a week

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (RJP)

Mangaluru, Mar 25: Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) on Friday March 24, decided to increase the number of hours to 48, when water supply will be stopped to city.

Previously it was decided to supply water for 48 hours a week and to stop supply for 36 hours a week from March 20. But as per the present plan, to be implemented from Monday March 27, water will not be supplied for 48 hours a week.

The emergency meeting was attended by all the members including Mayor Kavita Sanil, deputy mayor Rajneesh, Commissioner Mohammed Nazeer and chief whip Shashidhar Hegde.

It was explained that due to decreasing water levels at Thumbay dam and also due to complaints that places situated at higher altitude in city are not receiving water, the current decision was taken.

MCF, MRPL, OMPL, JBF & KUDREMUKH why can't use sea water for cooling . fresh water should be used as a close cycle i mean fresh water should go to plant & this fresh water should be cooled by sea water. there is technology our people don't have will power to solve the problem. what IAS, IPS or highly qualified people doing god knows. there is no big deal kulur river near by only discharge line have to connect sea . They can lift water directly from river

For last eight days we received water for only one day that too was just trickling. We are already using bislery water for drinking and tanker water for other purposes. Why are they not closing down second unit of MRPL? Can not Bangaloreans use less petrol for some days?
