Bengaluru: No plans for anti-Romeo squads in state- Home minister

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (RJP)

Bengaluru, Mar 25: “We do not have any plans to set up anti-Romeo squads on the lines of those in Uttar Pradesh,” said state home minister Dr G Parameshwara on Friday, March 24 here.

He was speaking to reporters during his visit to the all women’s police station at Shivajinagar.

“There is no need for anti-Romeo squads in the state. Our police are capable of dealing with those committing crimes against women. We will set up stronger squad than anti-Romeo squads if crimes against women and eve-teasing cases go up,” he added.

“Women police personnel will start patrolling soon in Bengaluru city to ensure safety of women and children. The government has taken steps to strengthen 35 women police stations across the state.” he concluded.

Anti-Romeo squad in UP is filled with jobless hooligans who are using such organizations to cover up their crimes. There is heaven and earth difference between people of U.P and progressive Karnataka.

Law & Order in Karnataka under Congress is 101 times better than BJP govt who ruled KA from 2006-2008 and 2008-2013.

Over 34,600 cases of rape have been reported across the country last year with Madhya Pradesh and Delhi topping the infamous list of states and union territories respectively. A total of 34,651 rape cases were reported in India in 2015. Among these, in 33,098 cases the offenders were known to the victims, as per National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data released.

The rape victims were among the age group of below six years to over 60 years. Madhya Pradesh has reported 4,391 rape cases, a highest among the states. Whereas, the national capital has reported 2,199 such cases–highest among the union territories.

When Nirbaya rape is still fresh in memory, which BJP made political tool to overthrow former CM Sheila Dixit government , in Gujarat “Just like an organised crime network, the woman was gang-raped by several persons over a period of one year. To highlight the plight of the victim, we will take out the yatra from Naliya,” .

Despite 'Love Jihad' and 'anti Romeo' squads BJP ruled states sexual violence is at peak. What is worrying in the 16 th Lok Sabha and newly formed UP under Yogi appointed many faces who face kidnapping, murder and rape cases.

If PM Modi governance is in the interest of the nation BJP would have been first to cleanse to set example for other political parties. The greed of power and ambition to cling to ruling has certainly damage ethics of pluralism.

Government seems to be interested in 'triple talaq' whereas as more serious issues like sexual violence, job discrimination, female feticide, prostitution etc had been sidelined.

People who demand anti-romeo squads to be formed in karnataka are idiots. Now people may disagree with me .... but what they wont be able to do is say that fundamental rights of the individual have not been trampled upon.

I have one more suggestion to these fools who demand such squads is that why dont you ask the govt to form a squad that will shoot and kill every loitering young men at sight. Just think by doing this way we can eradicate rapes all togather.

They say, they want anti-romeo squads. They say they do not want brothels. They say they can not tolerate live-in relationships. They raid and beat up couples having consensual sex.

Of course .... there is no need for anti-Romeo squads in the state. because as far as you people are in power nothing can happen to all these rapists, eve teasers and all. Karnataka has become heaven for all criminals and all will be under the safety banner of Congress Government. Karnataka really needs a drastic change in administration, looking for a dynamic and energetic leader at CM position who can take all such steps like Anti Romeo squads , ban of illegal slaughter houses, corrupt free and transparent administration. It may take some time to patch the damages current govt and siddu has done here.

Form Squads to stop Moral Policing activities. Though our CM Siddu has told that he will stop the moral policing activities has done nothing so far. So do it at least at the tail end of your tenure.

We don't want 1500 traditions now. Grow up and be matured in what you do. its the parents responsibility to bring the children in proper ways and not the politicians. The politicians let them take care of their children.
