Mangaluru: Four notorious criminals involved in cow theft arrested

Mangaluru, Mar 23: Police here on Wednesday, March 22 arrested 4 notorious criminals who were involved in many thefts including that of cows.

Mohammed Ajab (21) from Bajal, Hidayat (22) from Chembugudde, Mutalib (38) from Manjanady, Abdul Karim (46) from Chembugudde are the persons arrested.

Another accused named Salim Chembugudde who is believed to be part of the gang is absconding.

Two bikes and a scooter have been seized from the accused.

Several cases stand registered at police stations in Konaje, Suratkal, Ullal, Mangaluru North, Puttur and Kadaba against the arrested persons. Recently they had stolen 4 cows from a house in Capitanio, bikes within the limits of Mangaluru North police station and garments from a shop at Pumpwell. They were also involved in a theft attempt at a house in Kannur.

The operation was carried out under the instructions from city police commissioner Chandra Shekar, in which Kankanady police inspector Ravi Nayak led the team with other police personnel.

Police said that with these arrests, about 7 cases of theft have been cracked.

    Dear Shankar, Mangalore,

    It is not required to be halal only meat for Muslims because we the Christians and Jews are people of the Book as specified in the noble book.

    Hence supposedly Christians or Jews slaughter the animal or chicken Muslims can eat such meat.

    They are criminals & they not only involved in theft of cow but also in various crimes. I also lost 2 cows in front of my eyes. I cried that night for help but nobody helped me becoz my neighbors are not Hindus. Even they heard my voice they didn't even switched on light that day. So many comments I could make it out that majority of people support their acts thats why our Karnataka is turned as Criminals Paradise, I hate all who support their acts. I didn't loose hope even after loosing 8 cows so far to these Scoundrels. I don't quit rearing cattles.
    Most of the religious people have their own country where they follow their own rule except Hindus. Hindus are always Target for robbery, conversions in the name of help, destruction of temples etc. In entire history of India only one Masjid is demolished but number of temples demolished by all Muslim Rulers are countless.
    The people pro RSS & pro Cows are Bhakths/Chaddis & these bloody thieves are Secular. Now these people get bail very soon & become more violent in nature. Vare wow. Secular India.

    What I really can't understand is that how can a cattle be stolen? Are these cows stolen from cow shed or are these cows stolen when they were left free to graze around by their owner.

    Nowadays, hardly anyone leaves the cattle outside to graze freely.
    Most of the cow thefts are from the cowsheds. There are incidences where thieves were wielding knives to threaten the owner and pull out cows right in front of their eyes.

    Its difficult for me to believe what you say. This is because of following reasons,

    1. Stealing cow is not that easy. Cattle is not gold that you can put in a bag and run away. Cattle has its own mind and will do what it wants to do.
    2. I dont think anyone will risk getting caught transporting a stolen cow.

    I believe most cattle are sold then later reported as stolen to put the people involved in cattle transport into the jail.

    And also have you ever seen an article about the cattle being returned to owner?

    if you have a news paper reading habit then you must have known about the cow theft cases. these cow thieves stolen the cows from the huts & it belongs to hindu/Christian/muslim community also.

    your comments sounds that the theft was happened with only selected house but it is not. don't support any kind of crimes bcoz god know everything.

    I did not support these thieves over here. What I am pointing towards is that how come there are so many incidents of cattle theft. It is probably because of the owners of the cattle not taking care of their cattle.

    In Karnataka congress rulling and Karnataka police caught the cow theif.

    I dont think even beef eaters dont support theft of cow from anyones cowshed or free left to gaze on free grounds, not only muslims, Christians, Hindus, and let me tell you I have friends from GSB, (Gowda Saraswat) Bhat ( Brahmin) who eat beef hidingly but when the go to their home they are pure veg!!!

    Eating is everyonse own choice, there are many people who dont eat all type of vegitables also.

    The problem is in the system. There should have legal slaughter houses in each taluks of South Kanara / D.K., and Udupi Districts.

    Presently because of hike in meat prices in the market the thieves of BD, VHP, Rama Sena and other minority class thieves are making money like anything by robbing the cows.

    THERE IS A REQUIREMENT TO ISSUE PERMITS FOR CATTLE SLAUGHTER HOUSES IN EACH TALUKS AND SEE THE RESULTS. THE PRICES OF MEAT / BEEF WILL COME DOWN LIKE ANYTHING AND THE ROBBING OR THEFT CASES WILL DWINDLE LIKE ANYTHING.

    THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD ENCOURAGE CATTLE POPULATION IN THE INTEREST OF THE MEAT EATERS.

    GOD HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH VEGETARIAN OR NON-VEGETARIAN.

    HE KNOWS ALL LANGUAGES AND NOT LIMITED TO ANY ONE PARTICULAR LANGUAGE.

    GOD IS A JUST GOD.

    What made these culprits to steal cow? There could be somebody above them who give them instruction to carry out this criminal act. Looking at them, they might be hungry for money and for Cow. Police need to get to the ring leader who is running this racket, while simply punishing these culprits may not be appropriate.
