Secure borders to stop terrorist infiltration: Congress to government

New Delhi, March 22 (IANS): The Congress on Wednesday voiced concern over the increased infiltration of terrorists in India and asked the government to "match its rhetoric over the issue" by securing borders in a foolproof manner.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi keeps talking about terrorism at all forums in the country and world, he should now match the rhetoric with actions," Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi said in a press conference here.

He said the data presented in the Lok Sabha on infiltration painted a "serious picture" and "accountability should be fixed for it".

"It seems that no lesson has been learnt from Pathankot incident," he said, adding that "we want our borders to be secured."

Answering a query on alleged tampering with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) during the recent elections in five states, including Uttar Pradesh, the Congress leader said that there was no harm in doing everything possible to remove doubts from the minds of the public.
