New Delhi: Former CM S M Krishna joins BJP, Amit Shah welcomes

New Delhi, Mar 22 (PTI) : Congress veteran and former Karnataka Chief Minister S M Krishna, who had quit the party in January, today formally joined the BJP at its headquarters here.

He joined the BJP at a programme in the presence of party chief Amit Shah and other key leaders.

Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Shah, he said "they have taken the country to great heights."

"I am grateful today that I am joining the party which was led by the great leaders. I see great India emerging under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and ably supported by the party President Amit Shah," he told reporters after joining the party.

Krishna said that these two leaders "have taken the country to great heights and this is not an exaggeration."

Earlier this year, Krishna has resigned from the Congress and also served as the Karnataka Chief Minister between 1999 and 2004.

He had also served as the Maharashtra Governor and even had a stint as the country's external affairs minister during the UPA government.

S.M. Krishna must have thought and decided and now joined BJP which is in winning free in last couple of years.

The fact remains how long.... this 84 year old politician will have his identity...in BJP which needs to be watched in the coming days to come.
He was a great leader at Karnataka but as far as his central government ministry and Maharashtra governor's job is concerned, he has not done any great achievement.
No doubt Karnataka State has gained a lot because he has changed the "Face of Rural Karnataka". He was a very good "Administrator"

Good Luck S.M. Krishna Sir...BJP needs you badly to have their game plan for Karnataka Assembly elections...to fight with Siddhu....and you will have a great combination with Yeddiyurappa and Ananth Krishna.

With the 2019 election well underway, many citizens are once again buying into the illusion of GOOD GOVERNANCE— that their choices make a difference, that their vote will influence change and that politics matters. In reality, the course of the election is dictated only for the benefit of a few, select elite with deep pockets.
You are not free when your choices are pre-determined by a totalitarian system that only offers the illusion of choice.
The purpose of today’s government is to crush your real freedom while presenting you with the illusion of choice, hoping you won’t notice you’re living in a prison for your mind;a prison that is constructed and reinforced via WORDS that trap you in a realm of false ideas and delusional beliefs about what liberty really means.
Voting is a form of self-gratification, rather than a way to influence real political change. It does not change the system for the better, because the system has already been tainted within the roots.
We are told that the UPA and NDA parties have radically opposing political ideologies when, in fact, there is more concord than conflict between them. The Indian public are given the “power to choose” the powers that suppress them.

Don’t buy into the sneer campaigns executed by both parties. These cheap antics are a form of obscurantism intended to keep the Indian public entertained and divided, while boosting election turn out. In short, drama sells. The end result isn’t to keep the public entertained, but to keep the elite in power.

Politicians make various jabs at each other in public. Behind closed doors, however, they are comrades-in-arms.

Many corporations will help fund both the BJP and Congress parties in order to ensure they have power in the Indian Politics, regardless of who wins the election.

The Indian corruption free dream is just that, a dream. The best we can do is to continue with the pursuit of happiness.

DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE POLITICAL GAME, IT'S NOTHING BUT ILLUSION.

Now since you questioned about voting, I never said not to vote, but vote for the right person whose clean. But majority you know how they are. And please kindly refrain from voting just for the sake of voting.
However, since you questioned, answer a simple question and then if required I'll give you the answer - why was NOTA (NONE OF THE ABOVE) option introduced in India and what is it's purpose? If you had ever vited, you would knew.

SM Krishna joining BJP shows that BJP gives hope to our Country and Congress is hopeless.
There is no religion or caste associated with any party. Is Modi trying to creating jobs only for Hindus?
Is FDI only for Hindus? Any infrastructure development only for Hindus? Its for all.
Just because some of the right wing groups support BJP, it doesnt mean BJP is "anti" to other religion.
As a government, BJP is not encircled by family politics like Congress.

Time for Congress party to introspect why most of the senior leaders are walking away from the party rather than blaming the deserters. Today Congress party has no worthwhile leaders who commands respect of the people. Neither the organisational set of Congress allows young new leaders to lead the party. There are several youngsters like Scindhia, Pilot, Tharoor and many well educated and cultured youngsters who can take over and make it agood alternative party to BJP. Unfortunately a coterie of people surrounding one family just kills all upcoming leaders and do not give due respect to seniors who are not part of coterie, which is slowly destroying the edifice of grand old party

Just for your information every critic blames the congress for not having internal democracy. The same critics should be reminded that for the first time Mr. Siddaramiah was elected through secret ballot. This happened for the first time in the Congress. Now the so called senior leader like Mr. Janardhan Poojary who have lost election after election and Mr. Krishna who enjoyed all the benefits from the congress are throwing mud at Siddaramiah who is a popular mass leader. They say they are sidelined, when all that they think that they are entitled for every thing and have never allowed new and younger leaders to blossom. I am not a fan of Mr. L.K. Advani or Mr. Murli Manohar Joshi, but respect them because they too are visibly sidelined by the BJP, yet would never dream of leaving the BJP, because of their commitment to the party and their ideology unlike the party hopping Bahugunas and now S.M. Krishna who has decided to spit on the very plate that fed him.

When BJP sidelined their own 80’+'S from the party and made them bunch of mentors, how they welcome a 81 into their party ?

    People,
Looks like Krishna is a possible NDA candidate for Vice-President of India...I don't think Krishna is interested in electoral politics any more...

Krishna is a Sophisticated and polished politician....did his Masters in Law from South Methodist University, Texas US in 1959!!!....at that time perhaps Vidhwaan Moily/Oscar were going to High School in half pants...now perhaps Krishna is mentally not inclined to accept these 2 Vidhwaans as his Gurus!!!...hence this unnecessary defection...

    ...JH...

Nothing against Krishna, but studying in the US does not make one a super genius scholar and studying in India does not make one a duffer. Both Krishna and Moily are well educated. Moily too is a scholar and has written many literary works which are acclaimed. Politics is a different matter. You may have animosity towards a person for reasons well known to you but there may be others who may like that person very much. At the same time others may have animosity to a leader that you may like very much.

40 years enjoyed in congress getting a higher position. shame for political leaders like him. can't believe any political leaders. If they change any time to/from any party. So be careful common man following like leaders. After by poll in Karnataka Mr.Krishna will be outlined from BJP too.
