Mangaluru, Mar 18: “BJP do not have any pro-people agenda. That's why they are not cooperating with assembly sessions. They don't want to discuss problems faced by farmers. Now they are spreading rumours that CM Siddaramaiah has not allocated funds to waive the farmers’ loan,” said MLC and Chief whip of Karnataka, Ivan D’Souza.

Addressing media persons at his office on Saturday March 18, he said, “Our govt is ready to waive off 50% of farmers loan and at the same time central govt should waive off the remaining 50%.”

“Instead of creating unnecessary controversy in state, Yeddyurappa and team should go to Delhi and ask for grants in the interests of farmers. Actually, Yeddyurappa and company lack guts to stand in front of PM Modi,” he said.

“BJP is misguiding people in the name of income department raids which are being undertaken from the last few months. We are not afraid of raids. IT department is doing their duty. It is not corroded by corruption.”

“I am thankful to our CM and his popular budget. He given enough attention to the development of Dakshina Kannada district,” he added.

Replying to media persons, Ivan said, “I will demand more grants for the various development programs of Dakshina Kannada in the  ongoing budget discussion in assembly.”

“I will put my best efforts to bring Namma Canteen in Mangaluru very soon,” he concluded.

He distributed cheques to five beneficiaries under chief minister relief fund on the occasion.

District Congress interim president Ibrahim Kodichal, leaders BA Kharar, Nagendra Kumar, Ashraf, Habibulla and others were present.
