Mangaluru/Udupi, Mar 11: The BJP camps in the coastal districts erupted in celebration as the national party pulled off landslide victories in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

The BJP party workers and leaders in Mangaluru and Udupi celebrated by bursting firecrackers and distributing sweets.

Expressing confidence that the BJP would repeat the UP performance in Karnataka in the Assembly elections next year, Mangaluru MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said, "In Karnataka too, the BJP will definitely emerge as the single largest party.

"The election results have instilled confidence in the BJP party workers in Karnataka. Nobody can stop Yeddyurappa from becoming the chief minister now," Nalin said.

"BJP's brilliant victories in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand are a testimony of the success of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and the central government's pro-people programmes. The people have strongly and clearly rejected the Congress."

"The people have understood the fact that the country is moving on the path of development under the leadership of PM Modi. The voters have supported demonetisation too. The leaders of the alliance (SP-Congress) who had made personal attacks at the PM have been given proper reply by the people of north India," he said.

In Udupi, district BJP activists celebrated 'Vijayotsava', in front of Clock Tower.

District BJP president Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde speaking to daijiworld said, "The election results in UP and Uttarakhand are a clear indication of the upcoming elections in Karnataka. The union government has brought a lot of changes in the economic system, internal security and so on. The election results are an answer to the opposition parties. Even after demonetisation, the GDP has seen good growth. Definitely, Modi wave will impact Karnataka Legislative Assembly and Lok Sabha elections too. The Modi government will fulfill the desires of the poor."

Yashpal Suvarna, Nayana Ganesh, Naveen Kumar Kutyaru and others were present.

Watching at some of the senior congress leaders response after badly losing in UP, it is pretty clear that they have learnt nothing from these defeat. They are really reluctant to put blame on leadership of RG. In simple, they seems to be really careless about this.

Before Karnataka election, if congress does not change the leadership, it is going to another worst performance in Karnataka. It is very sad that our local leaders's voice is not heard by congress so called 'High Command'. If so, Yeddy victory is confirmed.

Remember voting in the name of NAMO is a trend which congress leaders take it very lightly.

We are talking about two states which cannot be compared in terms of culture, development, education, jobs, etc. As far as I know, Karnataka is a much better developed state and congress has been doing wonderful job and development. UP election result will not have much impact in Karnataka because here people good reasons to vote for congress. These are purely my views and I think most of us agree with me.
