Mangaluru: Milagres College marks Annual Day, releases magazine

Mangaluru, Mar 7: Milagres College celebrated its Annual Day at the Milagres Jubilee Hall on Saturday, March 4. Uday M Nayak, assistant commissioner of police, Mangaluru central sub-division was the chief guest. On occasion, the chief guest and other dignitaries on the dais unveiled the College Magazine 'Miracle'. 

ACP Nayak was felicitated by the college for being awarded the President’s Medal for his distinguished service. He addressed the gathering and said that only through discipline can a person achieve success. Additionally, he motivated students to do well in their studies and thereby be the bright future of India.











































In his presidential address, Fr Valerian D’Souza, correspondent, Milagres Educational Institutions, said, “Developing talent will not only make one good and happy person but will also make one better citizens of the country.”


Fr Denis Moras Prabhu, vice president of Catholic Board of Education, addressed the gathering, “Dakshina Kannada is a centre of education and I am proud that students are taking part in both academic and extracurricular activities.”

Dignitaries present on the dais were - Fr Denis Moras Prabhu, Fr Valerian D’Souza,  Fr Michael Santhumayor,  campus administrator and principal, Fr Anil Lobo, assistant parish priest, Milagres Church, Ivan D’Souza, management committee member, Ronald Pinto, PTA president, Cassin Rodrigues – vice principal, Milagres College, the CPL, ACPL and student coordinator of Cultural Association.

Management committee members Ivan Fernandes, Alwyn Rosario and PTA executive members were also present.

The programme commenced with a prayer song. Fr Michael Santhumayor, welcomed the gathering. The annual report of the college for the academic year was read by Cassin Rodrigues. This was followed by the prize distribution for students. The programme was compered by Savio D’Souza.  The vote of thanks was delivered by  Eva Manorama, faculty of commerce and coordinator of cultural association. The cultural programme commenced thereafter. The programme ended with the singing of the college anthem.
