Mangaluru: Blood, obesity screening programme marks World Kidney Day

Mangaluru, Mar 7: On the occasion of World Kidney Day, Yenepoya University and Mangaluru City Police Commissioner's Office conducted a free blood and obesity screening programme at the commissioner's  office, on Monday, March 6.

Dr Sanjay Patil, Deputy Commissioner, crime was the chief guest for the programme. The DCP said it was a one-of-a-kind screening programme for the police personnel, and assured his full support to Yenepoya University and the Yenepoya Medical College Hospital for similar programmes in other places like Panambur and Moodabidri.


Experts on the subject Dr Mujeeburahiman, chief urologist, Dr Santhosh Pai, chief nephrologist, Dr Sudesh Shetty, physician, and urologists Dr Altaf Khan and Dr Nischith D'Souza of the  Yenepoya Medical College Hospital gave talks on the various aspects of kidney care and health.

Commissioner Chandra Sekhar, ACP Valentine D'Souza, officers and inspectors from various police stations in the city attended the programme that benefitted around 137 policemen of the city.
