Kasargod: Saudi-based man dead, customs officer injured as cars collide

Kasargod, Mar 5: A head-on collision between two cars near Uppala Gate here on the night of Sunday March 5 claimed a life and caused injuries to a customs officer.

The deceased has been identified as Abdul Razak (34), a resident of Alampady, who was driving one of the cars.

Customs officer Vipin, who was in the other car, sustained injuries and has been admitted to hospital.

While one car was moving from Kozhikode towards Mangaluru, the other was plying from Manjeshwar to Kasargod.

Both Razak and Vipin were rushed to hospital by the locals, but Razak breathed his last on the way.

Razak was working in Saudi Arabia and had come down to his hometown for his brother Azeez's wedding which took place a few days ago.

The body has been shifted to Kasargod general hospital.

Manjeshwar police have registered a case.
