Kundapur, Mar 4: In a tragic incident, a woman died after falling off a moving bus at Haikady near Halady under Shankaranarayana police limits here on Saturday March 4.
The deceased has been identified as Saroja alias Rohini (42), wife of Nagaraj Damle, a resident of Haikady.
It is learnt that Saroja had to take her son, Mohit, who was sick, to doctor. The mother and son thus got into a private bus to Halady.
Saroja was standing near the front door of the bus. As the bus moved over a big pothole, she lost balance and fell out of the door on to the road. Eyewitness said that she sustained serious injuries as she landed on a stormwater drain, and died on the spot.
Her son Mohit was seated in the bus, hence was unhurt.
The body has been shifted to the local government hospital.
Shankaranarayana police have registered a case.
