Mangaluru: DGP Dutta happy about measures taken to control crime in district

Mangaluru, Mar 4: Rupak Kumar Dutta, who took over charge recently as the new director general of police of Karnataka, noted that criminal activities in Dakshina Kannada district are under control. He expressed appreciation at the measures undertaken by the police department in the recent past towards maintaining law and order situation here.

Addressing the police officers at a meeting held in the office of the city police commissioner here, Dutta hailed the officers for keeping criminal activities under tight leash. He advised them to continue with the good work, noting that the measures undertaken by the police department here have received all-round appreciation in the entire state.

Dutta also noted that Kerala chief minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, had written to Karnataka chief minister, hailing the police department of this city and Dakshina Kannada district for efficiently handling law and order situation during his recent visit to the city.

The DGP called upon the police force to completely crush with iron hands the menace of drugs trafficking and distribution network.

Western range inspector general of police, P Harishekaran, city police commissioner, Chandra Sekhar, superintendent of police, Bhushan Gulabrao Borase, deputy commissioner of police, Shantaraju, assistant superintendent of police, Vedamurthy, and others were present.

    Our present Police Commissioner Mr.Chandrashekar has done a lot in Mangalore to control crime etc. for which we need to appreciate his work to control all nefarious activities. He should be kept here for another 2 to 3 years till everything comes under normal.
