It is so fascinating to read that Roshni Nilaya old stiudents and faculty members had the opportunity to group together in the Persian Gulf region and reflect upon all the past memories of their Intellectual dedications. Although we both did not avail of Roshni Nilaya Education, each and every time when we hear about Roshni Nilaya we get some electrifying feelings because we spontaneously get the flash backs of all that has taken place even before Roshni Nilaya was ever blossomed as a reputable Institution for Social Work studies. Each and every time when we visited Mangalore we always made it a point to visit Roshni Nilaya and say "hello" to Sr. Dr. Olinda Pereira, or Sr. Jacinta D'Souza or Sr. Sophie and spend a few minutes in the premises and recollect so many fine memories of the past.

Roshni Nilaya was a fine Victorian Mansion of Mr. and Mrs. Sreshta who have been most generous to handover the entire property to the Nuns of Roshnia Nilaya and the complex is almost in the same old appearance of the past with the exception of some of the attachments. Mr. and Mrs. Sreshta had always lived in their simple but exemplary life. They both used to wait for the "Number Five" bus same as we did, and they instead gave lot more to the community. Mrs. Sreshta was also in command of the Ladies Club at the Light House Hill for decades and served the society well. These are some of the golden memories of life that bring fine reflections in our mind as and when we visit Mangalore each time.

Roshni Nilaya has proved to be the aspirations of late Mr. and Mrs. Sreshta, and we are grateful to all those that have contributed for the progress and prosperity of a fine Institution that is giving so much towards Social Work related studies where hundreds of bright students get their intellectual benefits and move far beyond our National borders and earn their name and fame. Thanks to all the Alumnis who are also branded as "Roshnites", which name will go down in History.

Choosing “Roshni Nilaya” has fulfilled all my needs … It was a best choice I made back in 1986 to pursue my under graduate degree and post graduate degree in Social Work. It has helped me in my intellectual level and personal formation as well. Thank you Roshni Nilaya , I will always remain grateful to you.
