Mangaluru: Kudripadav-Ailkala Pade road - PMO responds, ZP takes action

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Mar 2: In what may be termed as a ray of hope for the residents in the vicinity of the Kudripadav-Ailkala Pade road which has been lying in a state of neglect for decades, the Prime Minister's Office has responded to the issue and directed the officials concerned to take action.

A report on the issue, authored by Fr Gerald Ravi D'Souza, was published in daijiworld on February 23, drawing the attention of the concerned to the state of neglect in which the century-old Kudripadav-Ailkala Pade road has been lying in. The story had brought to light the plight of people living in Kudripadav, Dharode Hitlu and around Aikala Pade because of this bad road.

Aikala and Kallamudkur panchayats were asked to wake up from their slumber and take notice of the tribulations of the people of the villages comprising of even old, weak, sick people and also the students, and upgrade the muddy road.

Fr Gerald's cousin Sunil Jerald from Kudripadav posted about this issue on the PMO website. The zilla panchayat (ZP) chief executive officer has now written to the executive engineer, planning division in public works department here, to go through the details provided, verify the details, and take steps as per rules based on the complaint. The officer has been asked to send action taken report to the ZP within seven days as the same has to be uploaded in the Prime Minister's web portal about the steps taken as the complaint.

Here's hoping that the authorities concerned act on the matter and resolve the issues facing the residents soon.

An eye opener for the govt. who bagged the votes and are in deep sleep. Fr. Gerald initiated and had shaken the chairs and Mr. Sunil Jerald associated and awaken the local as well as the state authorities from their deep sleep. Its now duty of the residents to keep the issue on high flame until the muddy pathway is concreted to a road. Hope the local authorities realise the harm being done to the respiratory organs of their near and dear ones passing this muddy way.

Sir, you are 100% right. But if local bodies, elected state and central representatives not listening any public grievance then i think there is no any other option. Secondly we are not directly complaining to the PMO. We are using the Grievance Redress Mechanism in Government / pgportal.gov.in/ to forward over grievances. But some people still had problems if we raise the issue of common man in a proper way. Some people still like to live in stone age and ready to use bullock cart and our elected honest representatives eating our money in the name of development.

The Local Elected representatives have been approached and they have not given any due importance. If there are Many roads like that, it is the duty of every citizen to see that the concerned authorities being made aware. The issues of the road here now discussed is simply not motor-able during monsoon seasons. . Every year, so many crores are allocated for rural development in the budgets of state/union govt. and still nothing is realized and the common man continues to suffer by way of paying taxes and forced to commute on poorly made roads and often not fit for vehicles to run on such roads.

Mr Aff,, No action will be taken by kallamundkur panchayat. I had complained because some people staying on rental basis do not use latrines and pass motions outside making the area dirty. Due to the smell, we cannot come out of the house. Till today, no action has be taken for this. What action will be taken for these roads

I sent several requests to the Twitter and Facebook pages of CMO Karnataka, Indian National Congress, Office of Rahul Gandhi, KPCC President and all other Congress officials. But no one is responding to us. Congress leaders are only fit for photo shoot and press conference. They are not bothered about common man. If this article reaches to any of the Congress leader they must visit the spot and check the ground reality and act on this. Now ZP asked the Aikala Panchayat to investigate the issue and take necessary action on this.Dear Daiji team if possible please try to contact any of the official of Karnataka Rural Road Development Agency > My KRRDA complaint reference number is 2017022300000283. PMGSY/NRRDA‏ forwarded my request to KRRDA
