Dubai: KSCC portrays India's heritage on Indian Pavilion

Dubai, Mar 2: The Islamic affairs and Charitable activities department and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Islamic culture launched Fashunity exhibition on Thursday February 23 at Zayed bin Mohammed family gathering, Al Khawaneej. The three day exhibition of modesty and culture of 21 countries gathered in the city to showcase their culture and heritage.

Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC), a social club registered with the Community Development Authority (CDA), Government of Dubai, UAE arranged the 'Indian Pavilion' in a theme of 'Incredible India' which showcased the physical features of India with traditional attire, food and souvenirs of famous landmarks and attractions of the country.

Indian Pavilion was inaugurated by Dr Omar Khateeb, chief executive director of Masjid affairs.

Indian Pavilion was beautifully designed by KSCC. Children in traditional attire depicting India's diverse culture welcomed the visitors.

Hamad Al Shaibani, director general of Islamic affairs and charitable activities department visited Indian Pavilion on the closing day of the exhibition. Mohammad Faraz, guide of Indian Pavilion explained the tradition and culture of India. Shafi, manager of KSCC and Nasir, executive member of KSCC presented a memento from their club to Hamad Al Shaibani for appreciating Indian Pavilion and its culture.

'Fashunity' aimed to revive various cultures and remind people of their origin while in the UAE, a melting pot of diverse cultures. The diversity of the Emirates included people from the UK, Philippines, China, Brazil, Indonesia, Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina, Kazakhistan, Chille, UAE, Mexico, Peru, Ukraine, Pakistan, Ecuador, Ghyrgystan, China, Ethiopia, England and other countries.

KSCC specially thanked the assistant director of India tourism and consul general of India for their support and participation in the fascinating event Fashunity 2017. The club also thanked Islamic affairs and charitable activities department for considering and giving opportunity to KSCC for being part of this unique event. KSCC also thanked the visitors and members for their appreciation and dedicated participation throughout the event.
