Mumbai, Mar 1: Geethambika Yakshagana Mandali celebrated its golden jubilee on Sunday evening February 26, at Geethambika temple auditorium, Ghatkopar west.

Uma Maheshwari temple Jerimeri chief priest S N Udupa lit the traditional lamp and set the programme in motion. Karnataka Malla Kannada daily newspaper editor Chandrashekar Palethady was the chief guest. Geethambika Yakshagana Mandali honorary president Polya Laxminarayana Shetty, Bunts Sangha Mumbai Andheri Bandra regional committee executive president Aikala Gunapala Shetty, Dattatreya Durgambika Mandira Asalpa trustee Devu B Poojary, Mandira advisor Madhava Shetty, Durga Parameshwari Yakshagana Mandali Sakinaka president Sudhakara G Poojary, entrepreneur Karunaker Shetty Nitte were on the dais.

Yakshagana Mandali executive president Iruvaili Damodara Shetty, convener Sunil Ameen, manager Sudhaker Kunder, assistant manager Govinda Safaliga, Geethambika temple executive president Suresh Kotian, vice president Sathish Shetty, honorary treasurer Vikram Suvarna, joint secretary Sudhaker Shetty, Krishna Poojary and others were present. Chief priest Raghupathi Bhat conducted Poojas and blessed the gathering.

President Karnuru Mohan Rai welcomed everyone, gave a keynote address and honored the guests. Suresh Shetty Kananjar compered the programme. Honorary chief secretary Ajakaru Balakrishna Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.
