Mangaluru: City corporator Asha D'Silva resigns from Congress

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Feb 25: `It is reliably learnt that city corporator representing Valencia ward, Asha D'Silva, has resigned from Congress party.

As per information, Asha is involved with a long-drawn dispute over right of way with her neighbour. Interestingly, both the families have Congress activists, and both are Catholics. These families had fought with one another on this subject several times in the past. In the recent past, the dispute had also been referred to police station.

District Congress sources claim that president of Dakshina Kannada district Congress committee, B Ramanath Rai, is yet to receive this resignation letter.

This is not good to the party. The local Congress leaders should have dealt with this issue and would have come to a logical conclusion

Mrs Asha D'Silva is one of the very good crporators of MCC. Very compassionate, empathetic and cooperative. Shocked to see this news. Very unfortunate to see the situations which made her mind to resign. Hope she would think again and continue in her position, as the people of her ward need her services, as she is the able person.

One of the best corporators of Valencia ward. Done many jobs for the betterment of the ward and was always available to listen to the problems faced by the ward members. Congress would loose a good hand if they let her go. I hope they convince her to take back the resignation .

It would be like this: She wanted the help from local Congress people in her struggle with the neighbour , but the neighbour could be financially strong so the Congress support including district minister will go to the stronger by default.

The right of way should have been solved by confrontation. Why this unnecessary fighting ? There was absolutely no neccessity to resign from Congress Party. Be bold and face all these obstructions that comes in your life.

She should send her resignation letter to Mayor and Corporation Commissioner, not to dist: in charge minister? I do not know how corporation or Congress or Ramanath Rai can solve the civil dispute, if I'm wrong readers to correct me!

News says she resigned from Congress party and not as a corporator. So where is the question of submitting the resignation letter to the Mayor or Commissioner?

Exactly ... It's like throwing caution to the wind.

These days anybody can spread loose talks (rumors) to anybody group of people ... yet call it :reliably learnt:? Strange are the ways of people who like to pounce on anything offered.
