Kasargod: Auto driver held for harassing third standard student

Kasargod, Feb 24: An auto rickshaw driver reportedly meted out physical harassment to a third standard student in a secluded spot when taking her back home from school. The incident had  happened on the evening of Wednesday, February 22.

It is said that the auto rickshaw driver, Dinesh (26) from near Natekallu, harassed the girl after all other students alighted from the vehicle and the girl was alone. When the girl protested, he bit her hand and injured her. Thereafter, he dropped off the girl at her home. The girl explained about the incident to her family after which they searched for Dinesh, questioned  him, and handed him over to police.

The Adur police, who arrested the accused, booked him under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, it is learnt.
