Now, Telangana CM to offer gold moustache to Karavi Swamy Temple

Hyderabad, Feb 24 (IExpress) : Just two days after making controversy over making a stupendous gold offering worth Rs 5.5 crore at the Tirupati temple in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has picked up the threads again, this time offering a 'bangaru meesalu' (gold moustache) costing around Rs 75,000 at Kuravi Veerabhadra Swamy Temple.

There are wide-scale allegations that Rao's extravagance in fulfilling personal vows has been born by the state exchequer using the taxpayer’s money.

On February 22, Chandrasekhar Rao donated a Saligrama Haram (lotus model golden necklace) that is said to weigh 14.90 kg. He has also offered a five-row Kante (carcanet) that weighs 4.65 kg.

The trend does not stop there as on the same day Chandrasekhar Rao donated gold ornaments worth around Rs 5 crore to the famous hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala, to fulfil a vow he had made for realisation of separate state--Telangana. He was criticised by the main opposition parties Congress and the BJP in Telangana for using public money to fulfil his “personal vows” made to Tirupati temple in Andhra Pradesh.

But all the criticism seem to have fallen on deaf ears, as Rao also plans to donate a golden crown for the idol of Goddess Bhadrakali of Warangal, a nose stud to goddess Kanaka Durga’s idol in Vijayawada and another to goddess Padmavathi’s idol in Tiruchanur.

It has been claimed that the money for the donations had come from CM Rao's personal wealth, however, reportedly the money came from Common Good Fund for the Endowments Department, a fund meant for the up keep of renovate ramshackled temples.

The Guru, Mangalore that money is not from your pocket they are going to spend but it is tax payers money and I don't think you pay any tax that is why you are commenting in support of these thieves. Well fake people only comment in favor of thieves else you would have given your full name instead of using BS names.

O lord,do you find it ok?when people outside suffer because they dont have enough money to go to doctor,no money to send their children to school, even a child must work to earn ,are you pleased with golden crown and necklace or some metall mustache?Tell them to take it back, money out of it to spend to a school where children can study, educate and have a meal out of it.Then you can bless them and they will adore you more.but not for gold.Second I feel this money was certainly not of sincere way collected,to avoid income tax or demonetized crores to be disperced.Give such people the right way of thinking and make them be sincere one.The gold or money makes one blind to the reality.Make thieves to come to the wrong decisions. So Lord, bring them to the right path.

Why don't you preach the same in church who come to visit??? why are they offering to god rather then offering it to Army or NGOS or poor people..

This is temples money going back to temple, I don't think this is an issue at all.. If you want to create issues then please ask church to come under Muzurai department

Its the hard earned money which we donate to temple is taken by government since the temples comes under government control..

So if the money is coming from temple and going back to temple why are you worried.. We didn't beg with you nor tax payers money is used to give gold back to the temple...

Just see what is the contribution of those temple coming under Muzurai department to that particular state even before commenting...

Gali Janrdhana Reddy offered diamond-studded crown worth Rs 42 crore, he became the biggest donor to Lord Venkateswara at Tirupati since the Vijayanagara kings 400 years ago. Finally his hard earned money landed him in jail.

“Don’t be surprised if Reddy rejoins the BJP, gets a ticket and becomes a minister again.

If money is used from Muzurai Department to offer gold then I welcome this decision, but if it goes from Tax Payers money then I don't think this is a good move by Telangana Government..

As per the records from Telangana Goverment the gold offered to tirupati is from Muzurai department which was not told or showed by Media
