Udupi, Feb 24: A person ended his life by hanging himself at Sarakarigudde in Moodabettu village, Katapadi, on Thursday February 23. He has been identified as Santosh (36), son of Sundar Karkera, resident of Anjaneya Krupa House at Sarakarigudde, Katapadi.

Santosh had married some years back and has left behind parents, wife and a daughter. On Thursday afternoon, he used the rope of the rotar wheel of the well at his home to hang himself. But the rope snapped and Santosh fell into the well and breathed his last.

Santosh, who used to work for a private firm here, had chosen not to attend office since the last some days. It is believed that he was going through depression. Locals said he was worried over issues concerning his employment and financial crunch, which drove him to take this extreme step.
