Puttur: Clash erupts over girls of different communities staying in house

Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Feb 22: After workers of Hindu organizations objected to three girls staying in the house of a cleric from another community at Gokul Nagar in Koila village near Kadaba, youngsters belonging to two communities came to blows on the evening of Tuesday February 21. The situation threatened to out of control, after which Kadaba police went to the spot and managed the situation.

The police personnel led the three girls to the police station, questioned them, and contacted their parents.

Three girls, said to classmates of the daughter of a cleric, who happens to be a native of Mardhala and currently residing at Gokul Nagar in Koila, were staying in his house since the last two days. Cleric's daughter happens to be a medical student at Mysuru. When she came home on Saturday, she had brought with her three girls from her college, who hail from other states. It is said that the girls, who had also come to Koila and stayed with their friend for four days in the past, were to return on Wednesday.

As soon as activists of some Hindu organizations learnt about the fact that these girls were staying with cleric's family, they came together opposite the girl's home. When this fact came to the knowledge of youth from the other religion, they too came there. A policeman from Kadaba who was on patrol duty at the time came to know about this development. He visited the house in question and managed the situation. Thereafter, Kadaba in-charge sub-inspector, Anand Poojary and other personnel visited the spot and escorted the girls to police station. During this period, there was a heated exchange of words between police personnel and the crowd.

Even after the police left with the girls, people continued to amass at the spot from various villages. There was presence of large number of people belonging to both the religions. The situation went out of control, following which the young people fought with one another. At this juncture, police personnel from Kadaba and Uppinangady rushed to the spot and controlled the situation.

A person named Naveen was injured in the fight. Deputy superintendent of police, Bhaskar Rai, police circle inspector, Mahesh Prasad, and other officials visited the spot and supervised the arrangements.

    Sri, Karkala,
First try to understand, and know what is CONVERSION?
Conversion is not changing the outfit, One has to accept the new faith by heart, and no one has access to anybody's heart except the person concerned.
I may wear a saffron chola, but by heart I can be a muslim,, same way, I may wear skull cap, burqa etc, and my faith can be different.
Conversion doesn't happen by any ACT BY OTHERS, it happens by converting our mind and soul.

No basic education for these , no ethics, no fundamental foundation on religion , they do not know what a religion is , this is what so called top leaders in particular community must teach and educate thier generation how to behave how to respect other religions, instead of that they have been taught hatred ,then how these people will improve.

I pity on those innocent girls, who visited their friend. To avoid such kind of harassment to others in future, government can publish in leading newspapers that in our state, particular group will decide:
    1. Who can made friendship with whom?
    2. Who are allowed to visit friends?
    3. Who can wear what? etc. etc.
