Udupi, Feb 21: Priyanka Mary Francis, who is the current CEO of Udupi zilla panchayat, has been elevated to the post of deputy commissioner of Udupi district.

She will be taking over the charge from T Venkatesh.

The transfer order was issued by the state government on Tuesday February 21.

Venkatesh has been posted as managing director of Mysugar Mill (Mysore Sugar Company Ltd).

Altogether, the state government has ordered transfer of 11 officials.

An IAS officer of the 2009 batch, Priyanka Francis took charge as the CEO of Udupi ZP in November 2015. She was given the additional charge of acting DC after the transfer of the previous DC R Vishal.

Incidentally, Priyanka Francis is the fifth to take charge as DC of Udupi district after the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government came to power in 2013. Dr Muddu Mohan who took over the charge from M T Reju in 2014, was transferred in a suprise move the same year, and Pattan Shetty who came after Dr Muddu Mohan was transferred in just two months. Thereafter, R Vishal took charge of the post until his transfer in June 2016. T Venkatesh was then appointed in July 2016.

again transfer!!! I think present govts. main achievement is transfer bhagya. there is no scope for efficient officer. what a tragedy. this is the best example for corrupt administration. DC T Venkatesh's opinion that, he has taken action against sand mafia hence this could be the reason for transfer. he was not happy with this transfer. this itself is the proof that the corruption is in peak. is this congress govt achievement???.

We wish Priyanka Francis all the best.

It is really disgusting to note, there are frequent transfers for honest officers as the politicians are playing the dirty game, behind the scene. All politicians are the same.

Request all IAS, IPS officers to be firm in taking the orders from the government, unless otherwise it is so important.

Frequent transfer of DC 's and POLICE COMMISSIONER will adversely affect the welfare of the district. In recent years few dc and police commissioners are transferred, the young IPS IAS officers works effectively in the district taking some good measures. Meantime their transfer comes. This is the bad practice adopted by the govt. at least these officers should be given chance for 5 years to show their ability and capability

How many times the DC's and Police Officers are transferred in a year. if this is the law and order becomes worst. The DC's and Police and others Officers be continued to serve for atleast 2 to 3 years. Why give them football treatment. If this is the case all Ministers including the CM be changed once in a year.
