Two who defiled Mother Mary statue in Kurla caught on cam

Mumbai, Feb 21 (TNN): A day after a statue of Mother Mary was found desecrated in Kurla on Sunday, the police claimed to have identified two bike-borne men who were allegedly responsible.

Officials from Vinobha Bhave Nagar police station said that they had managed to establish the identities of the two men after going through footage from cameras around Christiangaon.

The desecration of the statue had sparked tension in the locality on Sunday.

Senior inspector Bharat Bhoite said that the bike used by the men is registered with the Thane transport office.

"With help from transport officials, we got the biker's address and our teams have been sent to nab him," said Bhoite.

The police said they are enquiring if the two men intended to spark trouble by creating a rift between communities ahead of elections scheduled for Tuesday.

They can destroy the statues, but they can not destroy faith of the people. People of other faith are going to large nos to Mahim Church to seek blessings. HANDFUL OF GOONS will not achieve anything out of such incidents. However it is important to punish such criminals.

    Krishna,

The practice is not new to us people of Karnataka (though this incident happened in Maha). Irony is that when tossing a chunk of pork into a mosque (assuming the blame will come to Christian), the tossing person forgets that a Christian will rather run home with the chunk to cook it. Vice-versa is with Beef thrown into a temple giving assumption that a Muslim threw it - ironically a Muslim will dream about delicacy he will prepare out of the meat instead of throwing it away.

Meaning, both these deeds require a communal minded thug from a certain community. Tired of such monkey-business, in Karnataka, hardly anybody gets instigated by such acts.

Time to tickle your feather brains for modified ideas.

We commend the Police for the good job. However, reading as written - the police said they are enquiring if the two men intended to spark trouble by creating a rift between communities ahead of elections- it means that if they say no, they are innocent. Why not they be charges under goonda act as a lesson for everyone, be it a christain, muslim, hindu or anyone for that matter?

God didn't let it happen neither will he not let it happen!

Actually man took upon himself the right to choose between right and wrong by eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge else I believe man would only be doing good as initially intended by God. Perhaps there would be no bad, no pain, no sorrow, no death as experienced by us.

    Antonio DSilva,

One of the qualities of your god is omniscience. So he should have knowledge of everything.

Actually man took upon himself the right to choose between right and wrong by eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge else I believe man would only be doing good as initially intended by God.
    - What you are implying over here is that the man/woman had a choice. But actually they didnt. Thats because god is omniscient. So he knew what was about to happen.

Yes God is omniscient and NO they did not have a choice...... God in omniscience had COMMANDED man NOT TO EAT of the tree of knowledge. Man DISOBEYED God and took upon himself the right to choose between right and wrong.... and that's why many of us are now questioning God's very existence.
