Sullia: Unnatural death case solved- Son admits killing drunkard father

Sullia1 Feb 21: A man was killed by his son at Pataje Bellare near here. The death was reported on the morning of Sunday, February 19. Police have arrested the culprit.

Babu (55) is the person deceased. Kumara (24) is the person arrested.

Police were told by the wife of deceased on Sunday morning that Babu had come drunk on Saturday night and was found dead the next morning. Bellare police registered the case as unnatural death and sent the dead body for post-mortem to a private hospital in Mangaluru.

The hospital report said that Babu was assaulted before his death. When the police interrogated the family of Babu, conflicting statements were given by them regarding the last moments of Babu.


Kumara

Meanwhile, Babu’s brother Sundara complained to the police that a comprehensive investigation was needed as Babu and his family fought frequently.

Further investigations revealed that when Babu came drunk on Saturday night, a fight took place among the members of the family and Kumara used a stick to beat up his father. And as a result, Babu died later.

Kumara was arrested and subsequently he admitted to the crime.
