Karkala: Python and king cobra fight - rescued

Karkala, Feb 20: In an incident which occurred on the banks of Yennehole river at Ajekar in the taluk on the evening of Sunday February 19, a python and a king cobra were involved in a fight lasting two hours.

Many locals gathered as the fight continued for a considerable period with neither of them backing out. Well-known researcher and snake catcher from the area, Ajai Giri from Malekadu, Agumbe, who came to know about the incident, came there. He tried to rescue both of them, the king cobra escaped into the forest, while the python was caught and released in a safe place.
