Mumbai, Feb 19 (IANS): Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt on Sunday said it was a joy to see his daughter Alia Bhatt receive an award from an "outstanding star" such as Sridevi herself.
"Such a gratifying image. Sheer joy to see you receive an award from Sridevi. She is an outstanding actor/star," Bhatt tweeted, in reply to a post shared by Alia.
On Saturday night, Alia tweeted a photo of herself receiving the Filmfare Award for her performance in "Udta Punjab" from Sridevi.
In the Abhishek Chaubey-directed film, Alia played a labourer from a small village who dreams of playing nation level hockey.
Alia currently awaits the release of her film "Badrinath Ki Dulhania". She is also busy with Ayan Mukerji's tentatively titled "Dragon", which also stars Ranbir Kapoor.
