Beltangady, Feb 17: The Indian Catholic Youth Movement of Sacred Heart Church Madyanthar chapter celebrated the 'Youth Nite' on Sunday February 5, at the church premises. On occasion of ICYM Madanthyar's 50th Golden Jubilee year, 'ICYM Jubilee' logo was unveiled by Fr Ronald D’Souza, director, ICYM Mangaluru .

The ICYM Madanthyar theme song composed by Madanthyar member Tyson D’Cunha was released on occasion. The youth of the diocese rendered their voices for the song.

A music show 'O..La..Re' by Shilpa and Stephen Cutinha along with their team was the prime highlight of the serene evening. The music show was a blend of music, songs and dance. Famous vocalists Shilpa and Stephen Cutinha, Robin Sequeira, Prakash D’Souza, Meera Crasta, Godwin Lewis, Shiny D'Souza and Sherene Noronha sang Konkani songs by various composers. The music for the evening was directed by Roshan D’Souza, while members of Naach Sobhann and the nascent dancers of Madanthyar unit entertained the audience with their outstanding performances. The concept was visualised by ‘Sangeet Guru’ Joel Pereira and the background visuals were designed by Ivan Pereira (Propix).

The show was compered with a dose of comedy by known comedian Nellu Permannur and team.

Popular artist Shabari Ganiga painted live at the venue. ICYM Madanthyar wonderfully performed a western dance. Fr Arun Lobo,  Madanthyar director, ICYM  appreciated the works of deanery's ICYM .

Parish priest Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas in his presidential address thanked the parents and well wishers of youth. The programme concluded with a comedy skit ‘Konaiki Sanginaka’ written and directed by Tyson D’Cunha, and enacted by the parish youth.

The programme was an opportunity for the youth to exhibit their talents. The grand success of Youth Nite was evident from the positive response of the audience present. The programme was appreciated and a new benchmark set.
