Priyanka all set to hit campaign trail on Friday

New Delhi, Feb 17 (DHNS): Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is all set to hit the campaign trail for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections on Friday.

She is expected to be present alongside her older brother and Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi at two rallies —at the Government Inter College Ground, Rae Bareli, and at the Baburiya Ground in Maharajganj in Rae Bareli Parliamentary constituency.

According to sources, Priyanka is expected to keep her participation in the election campaign to a bare minimum as the Congress is in a friendly fight against alliance partner SP in many seats in the family pocket boroughs of Amethi and Rae Bareli.

SP Ministers Manoj Pandey and Gayatri Prajapati are in the fray from Unchahar and Amethi Assembly seats. The Congress has fielded candidates in both the constituencies as it wants to have a greater say in the two Parliamentary seats. Rahul represents Amethi in the Lok Sabha, while Congress president Sonia Gandhi is a member from Rae Bareli.
She’s Congress strategist: Azad
Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on Thursday said Priyanka was “actively involved” in poll management and formulation of strategy, reports DHNS. He was seeking to clear the confusion among Congress leaders in the Nehru-Gandhi bastions of Amethi and Rae Bareli over the absence of the party’s star campaigner.
